Spanish Language Courses

If you want to study Spanish in Granada, the Intensive Spanish Language Courses (CILE) are designed for those students who wish to start learning or improve their Spanish during a short stay in our country. An essentially communicative approach is followed in these courses along with the use of the most up-to-date audio-visual technology. The average number of students per group is 12.

CILE courses are offered from January to December. There is a level test at the beginning of every month so students can arrive at the start of any month and join a CILE group at the corresponding level. It is also possible to follow these courses for a number of months with the guarantee that a group will exist at every level A1 to C1 (CLM-1 Beginners to CLM-8 Superior), as long as there is a minimum of ten students per group.

From October to December and from February to May, students who have passed level B1.1 Spanish (CLM- 4 Intermediate) can enrol in individual subjects from the Spanish Language and Culture Course and those who have passed level B2.1 (CLM – 6 Advanced) can enrol in individual subjects from the Hispanic Studies Course.

This course is compatible with the Internship Program for Foreign Students. Also, during the summer months different language and culture subjects are offered.

CLM has its own Accommodation Service which is open to all students enrolled at the Center. Students can choose the type of accommodation which best suits them from a wide range of possibilities (hotels and hostels, living in a family, student residences, apartments, flats and rooms in shared houses).

Types of Accommodation

The prices for available accommodation are:

1. Hotels and hostels: for those who need accommodation for a short period of time. (list of hotels and hostels)

2. Accommodation with families: this type of accommodation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board) and laundry once a week. Students can have either a single or double room.

For periods of less than a month, and in the months of June, July, August and September the price is 30 €/day for either a single or double room (depending on availability).

The student is free to request a change in host family if necessary.

3. Student Residences: these are commercial establishments which provide accommodation to both national and foreign students. The minimum stay is a complete academic year (October-June) except in summer when reservations can be made for days or months.

4. Apartments, flats and rooms: This option is managed directly by a company called Aluni. Therefore, the service relationship is directly between the student and Aluni. CLM has a collaboration agreement with them that allows you to have a 20% discount if you present a document proving that you will be studying at our centre.
