COURSE DESCRIPTION – Hispanic Studies Diploma Course (Spanish Studies Diploma Course)

The Hispanic Studies Diploma course is an academic-year long Spanish Studies course in which participants greatly improve their level of Spanish as well as their understanding of Spanish culture, Spanish history, Spanish art, politics, and society. Such courses sharpen Spanish language skills and give participants a depth of understanding of Spain that they would otherwise not obtain.

To obtain the Spanish Studies diploma, participants (a) take annual Spanish Language Couse and pass an exam that corresponds to their level of Spanish (medium, superior or advanced) and (b) must pass a minimum of 225 hours of Spanish culture courses.

The students that do not obtain the Spanish Studies diploma will receive a certificate in which the corresponding qualifications and credits of the courses will be stated. In the event of failing a culture course, a certificate of assistance will still be given, in which the level and duration of the course will be stated.

Spanish Culture Courses: Participants select additional Spanish courses from the Spanish Culture Courses offered. (Participants pay an extra fee for each elective course. Students who enroll in more than one course will receive a discount of 10% on all courses of an equal or inferior length or cost. (This discount is not retroactive and cannot be applied to fees already paid.))

Prior to the beginning of the Spanish Course participants take a placement exam and will be placed into Spanish Language Courses and Spanish Culture courses that correspond to their level of Spanish.
