COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Spanish Language and Culture program is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their deepen their knowledge of both the Spanish language and the different aspects of the cultures of the Hispanic world, related to Spanish art, Spanish literature, Spanish history, etc. The Spanish program courses combine Spanish language and Spanish culture studies, as it is the best way to learn a language and to also understand the way people think and live in that culture. The Spanish Language and Culture semester runs for 12 weeks, during which time participants take 15 to 20 class-hours of Spanish per week. Cultural activities are included with the Spanish program.
Participants take a Spanish placement test prior to beginning their Spanish classes in order to place them in the correct level Spanish course. Spanish courses are offered on many levels, from beginner Spanish to advanced Spanish. At the end of the program with academic credits, students receive an academic transcript listing the coursework completed and grades achieved.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Open enrollment, anybody can participate. The Spanish program at the Universidad Nebrija in Madrid is open to teens, students, and adults. You do not have to be a college student to enroll in this Spanish program. You do not have to participate in a US university study abroad program to enroll in this Spanish program. Minimum age 18.
ABOUT
The Centro de Estudios Hispanicos at Nebrija University offers Intensive Spanish Language and Spanish Language and Culture courses, as well as Spanish courses for professionals and Spanish exam preparation courses. Nebrija University is located in the capital of Spain, Madrid. Students from over 30 countries come to Nebrija university each year to study Spanish and deepen their knowledge of Spain, its culture, and way of life. Our staff in the Students Services Department will make your stay sail as smoothly as possible. They will provide you with internet access, library information, housing, etc.
SERVICES OFFERED
Activities: A variety of field trips and cultural experiences will open your eyes to another culture, allow you to integrate yourself into life at Nebrija and give you many opportunities to make friends.
Housing: Housing placement is offered for homestays and university residences.
[Note that Nebrija University does not appear to offer shared student apartments as a housing option. Shared student apartments can save you hundreds of dollars per month (and save you thousands of dollars during semester and academic year programs).]
HOW TO ENROLL
Visit the Nebrija University website and fill out the online registration form. Indicate the Spanish course you wish to attend, the starting date (refer to the university website for starting dates), and your preferred housing option.
